Jackie Gray has played the piano for twenty
two years and has taught piano for twelve of those years. She grew up
singing with her four younger sisters as well as in various choirs and
small singing groups.
She has a classical background in both piano and voice
but as she's grown older, her tastes have turned more toward pop and
country, though she played and sang lead and backup with a Christian
band in Seattle.
Instead of a Music major in college, she pursued a Communication
Studies degree with an emphasis in Journalism. That gave her a great
foundation for writing her own music, especially because she feels that
the best music tells a story and draws the listener into that story.
Jackie has lived in Seattle for most of her life but
a period of intense illness brought reflection with it and she came
to realize that though she has many interests, singing is the most important
thing in her life, the thing that she wants to pursue more than anything
else. Armed with that knowledge, she made the permanent move to Nashville
on August 11th, 2011, to follow her dreams.
