Ty Brown met Brian Crabb through a benefit
concert and Brian shared what he was doing with the “Never Forgotten”
CD Project and asked if Ty might want to participate.
“I felt very honored to even be asked to be a
part of something like this,” Ty said. “The song I ended
up writing was something that just happened.”
He'd hoped to write a song about retired veterans,
but his feelings shifted toward a different direction.
“I ended up feeling that I wanted to write something
about a young man or woman actually there in the middle of war and closed
his/her eyes and had total faith in God and the soldiers (angels) that
were fighting with him/her,” he said “and that it was going
to be okay and they would be victorious.”
For Ty, this song has become a way to return the favor
to the military members.
“This is my way of giving back to those men and
women who have given up their lives for me, my friends and family,”
he said. “It's not a lot, but if it can make one mom or dad or
anyone else smile, I feel like it has done what I intended it to do.”
Ty wants to send a message loud and clear:
“I want the men and women who lay their lives
down for me to know that I support them 100 percent,” he said.
“I am very thankful to be living in a country that will fight
for what it believes and backs down from nothing. I was not directly
affected (by 9/11) as far as family goes, but when something so dramatic
happens to your country it is very tough to swallow.”
He wants to tell the families that have lost loved
ones that in this song, a soldier has no regrets.
“Their choices would be made again and again
if asked. That's what makes these men and women so special. Its in their
blood,” he said. “I am so excited and honored to be a part
of something that gives to the ones that have paid and are paying the
ultimate price for us.”
